Heitz Cellar’s Angelica is a rare, historic expression of Mission, California’s earliest vinifera grape. Made from grapes planted in the 1890s, this fortified wine was aged in oak for over 40 years before bottling.

Produced in 1974 using traditional solera-inspired methods, it’s both a time capsule and a tribute to California’s winemaking roots. Deeply concentrated, with natural sweetness and layers shaped by decades of slow oxidation.

Over three generations, Heitz Wine Cellars has helped define modern-day Napa Valley. Founded in 1961 by the late Joe Heitz and his wife Alice, the winery has built a reputation for producing world-class wines of distinction, including one of Napa’s benchmark Cabernet Sauvignons, the Martha’s Vineyard; a wine that James Laube from Wine Spectator has referred to as one of California’s “grands crus.”

During that 50 year span not much has changed at Heitz. Stylistically the wines have remained true to what made them world famous in the 1970s; powerful and concentrated but balanced with a vibrant nature and structure that allows them to age gracefully for decades. That structure and elegance is a Heitz trademark.
