"Keenan's 2011 Mernet Reserve emerges from the glass with hints of sweet tobacco, mint, wild flowers, dark berries and underbrush. In the style of the year, the 2011 is a bit understated, but all the elements are in the right place. Sweet floral and spice notes linger on the soft finish. Ideally the 2011 is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. Keenan's Mernet is 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon." -Antonio Galloni

"The 2011 Mernet Reserve is an equal part blend of Estate Merlot and Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Overall, this cuvee is tighter and more restrained, requiring more coaxing than its older sibling. The dark plum/ruby/purple color is accompanied by aromas of espresso, black currants, licorice and underbrush. In the mouth, it is medium-bodied, but more monolithic, playing it closer to the vest than the 2010. There is a lot to like about this wine, but the vintage conditions have clipped its wings in the ability to expand and become something prodigious. Drink it over the next 8-10 years." -Robert M.
