Saint Aubin was one of the first villages from the “Edges of Burgundy” we championed. That was back before Pierre Yves Colin Morey and Lamy had become official superstars, though, and all these years later it’s hard to say with a straight face that Saint Aubin is some kind of hidden gem.And yet, St. Aubin still contains (at least somewhat) hidden gems!Domaine Prudhon is a gem of a producer based in St. Aubin. Neal Rosenthal has imported Prudhon’s wines for 34 vintages and they are exemplars of the producers Neal tends to represent: they have beautiful terroir (one of the broadest representations of St. Aubin’s sites), farm without herbicides or chemical fertilizers, unrushed and minimally-interventionist cellar work.

Burghound
What importer Rosenthal Wine Merchant has to say about this wine...
From the lieu-dit in the most northern sector of Chassagne, bordering Puligny and close to the Grand Cru Criots Batard Montrachet. The vines here are 45 years of age and have a south-southeast exposure. The wine is aged on the fine lees for twelve months (sometimes more) before bottling. It is an ample and persistent wine that ages particularly well.
