Domaine Vincent & François Jouard farms 60-year-old Chardonnay vines in the limestone-rich Premier Cru Les Champs-Gain, perched mid-slope in Chassagne-Montrachet. The 2022 vintage reflects the site's southeast exposure and mineral tension.

Fermented with native yeasts and aged in barrel (about one-third new), it offers ripe orchard fruit balanced by chalky structure and bright acidity. A precise, terroir-driven white Burgundy of notable purity and depth.

Left White Wine

The brothers took over the family estate that dates to 1820 in the early 1990s. Their "recipe" for old school Chassagne is very straight forward. Vincent is in the vineyards and tills regularly in order to fastidiously avoid herbicides and other chemicals. In the cellar François uses a light touch and no more than 1/3 new barrels for elevage. The Jouard's are blessed with prime parcels and old vines, adding to the excellent value of their wines.
