Giovanni Sordo’s 2013 Barolo Monprivato comes from one of Serralunga d’Alba’s top vineyards, known for its powerful, structured Nebbiolo. The estate farms organically and ferments with native yeasts, aging the wine in large Slavonian oak casks.

This vintage delivers dense dark cherry, tar, rose petal, and spice notes with firm tannins and vibrant acidity. A classic, age-worthy Barolo with complexity and depth.

"Mid ruby with broad orange rim. The typical fruit-driven Sordo approach, but with a mineral streak on the nose. Almost a little tarry on the palate. Signature Sordo intensity of fruit on the palate. Much richer style compared with Giuseppe Mascarello. Richly tannic too. Solid stuff, but could be a little finer for this cru."
