What is this wine?
Los Chuchaquis is a playful, small-scale California project from Diego Roig, focused on natural, low-intervention wines made for pure drinkability. Super Bueno is a sparkling rosé-style wine made from Sangiovese, crafted in a pétillant naturel (pét-nat) style. Fermentation finishes in the bottle, capturing lively bubbles, freshness, and unfiltered character. The 2024 vintage produced bright, fruit-driven wines in California, perfectly suited to this fun, fizzy bottling.

Why get this wine?
If you love pét-nats or chillable, natural wines, Super Bueno is exactly what the name promises—super good. It’s refreshing, approachable, and a joyful way to experience Sangiovese outside its usual Tuscan home. Great for parties, picnics, or as an aperitif, it’s all about fun without sacrificing craft.

What does this wine taste like?
Juicy strawberry, watermelon, and tart cherry with a hint of citrus zest. Light, fizzy, and dry with a zippy, refreshing finish. Unfiltered for a slightly cloudy, natural texture.

When should you drink this wine?
Drink now through 2026. Chill well and pop it for casual gatherings, brunch, or alongside charcuterie, fried chicken, or pizza.

Seemingly a part of the Stirm Wine empire, Los Chuchaquis is a collaboration between vinous wunderkind Ryan Stirm and two longtime youthful wine industry professionals, Jehan Hakimian and Andrew Nelson. At Stirm, the star is and always will be riesling with a smattering of delicious reds from some heritage California varieties. At Chuchaquis they seem to relish in the obscure and exotic with wine made from some usual suspects as well as more rare charities like today's feature Negrette.

Like Stirm, farming and winemaking is sustainable and natural. True vignerons, the lads at Chuchaquis spend an inordinate amount of time in the vineyards they work with, whether it’s ones they fully manage or not. They only work with organic or even more sustainably farmed fruit, and mostly dry farmed old vines. The work in the cellar is kept to a minimum allowing the wine to develop without too much manipulation thus reflecting the Cali terroir they come from.
