The villa and winery at Casanuova delle Cerbaie goes back decades, but they were purchased by an American investor in 2008. He happens to be a lover and devotee of traditional Brunello and set about investing in upgrades while simultaneously insisting that everything be done the slow, old-fashioned way. Farming is meticulous and sustainable and harvesting is always completely by hand. The wines are aged for long periods of time in only large Botti of Slavonian Oak and released after several more years of aging in the bottle. The heart of the Estate's holdings is the famed vineyard of Montesoli.
