Returns & Exchanges

We stand behind every bottle we sell.

  • If the wine is less than 10 years old and it is corked, you may return it to us for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase. You must show us proof of purchase. We understand that you may not live near a shop and that it is difficult to ship open bottles of wine to us, so if there's any problem feel free to Contact Us and we'll work it out.
  • For wines older than 10 years, the consumer bears the risk of a faulty cork, but we accept returns of older bottles if the wine is faulty as a result of improper storage. Please come by the store or Contact Us if there is a problem.
  • We may, at our discretion and to the extent permitted by law, accept returns of unopened wines within 30 days of purchase if they were properly stored by the purchaser, subject to a 15% re-stocking fee.

The villa and winery at Casanuova delle Cerbaie goes back decades, but they were purchased by an American investor in 2008. He happens to be a lover and devotee of traditional Brunello and set about investing in upgrades while simultaneously insisting that everything be done the slow, old-fashioned way.

Farming is meticulous and sustainable and harvesting is always completely by hand. The wines are aged for long periods of time in only large Botti of Slavonian Oak and released after several more years of aging in the bottle. The heart of the Estate's holdings is the famed vineyard of Montesoli.

<p>100% Sangiovese Grosso</br>From the prestigious hill of Montosoli to the north of Montalcino</br>250-300 metres above sea level on land dating back to the Eocene period characterized by calcareous, marl, argillaceous and conglomerate rocks</br>Vines planted with south-west exposition</br>Manual selection of the grapes</br>Intense extraction with frequent pumping over, followed by long maceration on the skins</br>Aged 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels selected by Stockinger, and 6 months in bottle</br>In 2011 no Riserva was produced, so all of the Montosoli fruit is in these wines </br>Approximately 2500 cases are produced each year</p>
