Few Chateaux within Bordeaux can match the precision winemaking that is done at Guadet. Entirely biodynamic with native yeast fermentation and less oak results in a wine with tension and grace.

Chateau Guadet is a small estate that is not often seen in the US marketplace, and has a long and fascinating history. After about three centuries of ownership the Guadet family's involvement ended in classic French fashion with a revolution and a guillotine (the elder Guadet was the mayor of St. Emilion, and is pictured on the label). Now the estate is managed by Guy-Petrus Lignac, and his son Vincent, and they are currently producing world-class wines with biodynamic principles, indigenous yeast, lower percentages of new oak, lighter oak toasting, and amphorae.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 93
"The 2015 Guadet has blossomed into a gorgeous wine. Soft, open-knit and totally seamless, the 2015 is super-expressive today. Iron, grilled herb and leather notes add complexity and a good bit of freshness as well. I can't wait to see where Guadet goes in future vintages." -Vinous
