Chateau Guadet is a small estate that is not often seen in the US marketplace, and has a long and fascinating history. After about three centuries of ownership the Guadet family's involvement ended in classic French fashion with a revolution and a guillotine (the elder Guadet was the mayor of St. Emilion, and is pictured on the label). Now the estate is managed by Guy-Petrus Lignac, and his son Vincent, and they are currently producing world-class wines with biodynamic principles, indigenous yeast, lower percentages of new oak, lighter oak toasting, and amphorae.
