From 3 generations of female winemakers, you get a ton of value in the Cachet d'Or bottling by Lassalle. Myriad stone fruit aromatics on a base of baked brioche, dried ginger, and lemon curd.

Many would say that J. Lassalle was one of the original growers that put grower champagne on the map stateside, thanks to legendary importer Kermit Lynch. Lassalle was one of Kermit's very first finds back in the 1970s, and he has been importing them ever since, alongside Raveneau, Tempier, Coche-Dury, and all those other treasures.

Jules Lassalle established his family domain in 1942 on the Montagne de Reims. When he passed away in 1982, winemaking fell to his wife Olga. It eventually passed to her daughter Chantal and then, in 2006, to Chantal’s daughter Angeline. J. Lassalle's champagne exemplify a certain elegance, precision, and balance that is only achieved through decades of hard work and dedication.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 90
"Light gold. Ripe pear, honey and tangerine on the fragrant nose and in the mouth. Fleshy, broad and rather powerful, with a touch of bitter quinine adding a dry edge. Closes smooth and subtly spicy, with good cling and a lingering note of sweet butter."

Wine Spectator

WS 92
"There's an open-knit, almost airy feel to this vibrant Champagne, which carries a concentrated range of juicy pear and black raspberry fruit, with hints of crystallized honey. Shows gingersnap biscuit and verbena flavors on the chalky texture, gaining momentum on the racy, zesty finish."
