From the producer: This terroir gives rise to a silky, low-tannin wine with feminine elegance. On the nose, it reveals expressive aromas of black fruits, spices, as well as subtle toasted and roasted nuances. When tasted, it surprises with its freshness and liveliness, sometimes reminiscent of a white wine.

They have both history and pedigree (almost 200 years and 7 generations old), but also innovation as current managers Erwan and Eve Faiveley look to the future. For years, they were considered one of the large, but high quality, negociants in Burgundy – companies that source grapes from third-party growers for wine production. But now they are a true domaine, with many prized holdings in Burgundy, farmed organically, that yield some of the region’s most sought-after wines.

This possesses good if not stunning length as it eventually falls off due to the fact that the tannins become a bit angular. With that said, I suspect that the overall sense of harmony will improve as the tannins resolve."
