The 2020 vintage of Henri Boillot's Corton-Charlemagne—one of Burgundy's finest recent vintages for whites, with crystalline freshness and razor-sharp acidity despite warm conditions. Same Grand Cru site on the Hill of Corton: steep, west-facing, with chalky marl soils and minimal topsoil. Approximately 75% new oak. Where the 2016 is taut and austere, the 2020 is more immediately expressive while retaining serious structure. Keep for a decade or more.
