Named for a salt-rich pocket of gypsum-bearing clay in Sicily's Platani Valley, Occhio di Sale drinks like a delicious light red with the freshness of rosato. Made from Nero d'Avola, Inzolia, and Nerello Mascalese, fermented spontaneously with brief skin contact, it delivers small dark fruits, flowers, and spices wrapped in mineral salinity. Tannic and creamy—serve slightly chilled with almost anything.

Left Rosé Wine

Passofonduto is named after the contrada in western Sicily where the facilities are based. As you’d expect from a Louis/Dressner import, farming is organic and winemaking is minimalist. Giuseppe Cipolla, the winemaker, started producing wines in 2014.Cipolla does use a little bit of sulfur, though, keeping the wine stable and clean.
