Left Sustainably Farmed

One of the original domaines to begin bottling themselves (back in the 1940s), Roumier quickly moved into the very top tier of Burgundy producers. Specialists in Chambolle Musigny, they produced some of the most achingly pure and elegant wines from anywhere, and consequently the demand for their small production is enormous. Roumier's wines are strictly allocated, and we only occasionally acquire sufficient quantities to post online, so be sure to grab bottles when you see them!

"A 2.59 ha monopole of the domaine. A slightly riper combination reflects notes of a variety of dark berries, warm earth and just enough wood to mention. The generously proportioned, lavishly rich and suave medium weight flavors that exhibit fine length on the sappy and lingering finale where the only nit is a touch of warmth. This promising effort is firm enough to age well over the next decade but not so compact that it couldn't be enjoyed on the younger side."

It's a little introverted at first but it unfolds nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and gentle grip.
