There is no doubt that Elisabetta Foradori is one of the world's most influential winemakers. Her Agricola Foradori is situated in the beautiful Italian Dolomites, where German customs blend with Italian traditions. While big cooperatives have traditionally dominated the industry in the region, Foradori has been a pioneer in biodynamic farming and achieved Demeter certification in 2009.

The estate has been making wine since the 1930s, and Elisabetta has been in charge since 1984. Today, her children Emilio, Theo, and Myrtha lead the estate, bringing new energy and focus. Emilio and Theo are responsible for winemaking and marketing, while Myrtha has developed a vegetable and herb growing program, mainly under the pergolas at the Mezzolombardo vineyard. Under Emilio’s exacting standard the wine have reached a new pinnacle and are the best Foradori has produced to date

Elisabetta and Fam are enthusiastic proponents of organic and biodynamic farming, ensuring that not a single drop of chemical herbicide or pesticide contaminates her wines.

"The Foradori 2018 Pinot Grigio Fuoripista shows a reddish copper color with amber highlights. The wine is closed in a fun orange wax seal capsule. This Ramato-styled Pinot Grigio (the wine's color is the result of extended skin contact during fermentation) opens to aromas of dried peach, nectarine and orange. There is an almost sweet note of candied cherry or almond marzipan that lifts with bright intensity from the bouquet. I'm also reminded of floral notes, especially wild rose or fragrant rosa rugosa. This Pinot Grigio shows enough structure to pair with vegetable tempura or fried pork, especially when the bottle ages a couple of more years." -Monica Larner
