"The 2022 Garnacha Alegre Valgañón from Sajazarra and Cárdenas includes 10% whole bunches. Aromas of cherry, rosehip and subtle herbs lead to a compact palate where stem and chalky tannins merge. Bright acidity drives a fruit-focused, modern expression of Rioja." -Joaquín Hidalgo

"The pale and bright ruby colored 2022 Garnacha has a varietal nose with notes of cherries, aromatic herbs, ripe fruit and decayed flowers and a more decadent profile that is more Mediterranean. It has a fine thread on the palate, with chalky tannins and supple flavors, finishing dry, clean, long and serious. The élevage was in 500-liter barrels, a 1,000-liter oak foudre and concrete egg, which seems to work nicely. It's ripe without excess, with 14.6% alcohol that feels integrated and balanced by the acidity and good pH. It does have some 5% Garnacha Blanca from Sajazarra. 2,700 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024." -Luis Gutiérrez
