We are honored to invite you to an exclusive evening with Cathy Corison, a trailblazing winemaker whose dedication to crafting elegant, terroir-driven Cabernet Sauvignon has influenced a generation of Napa Valley vintners. Joining her is her daughter and co-winemaker, Grace Corison Martin, representing the next chapter in the Corison legacy. This special seminar will take place on Wednesday, March 19th, from 5 pm to 7 pm in our Cellar Room.
Founded in 1987, Corison Winery has been a beacon of independent winemaking in Napa Valley. Cathy Corison, recognized as the San Francisco Chronicleโs Winemaker of the Year in 2011, established the winery with a vision to produce balanced, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon that speaks authentically of its origin. Her commitment to traditional winemaking and sustainable practices has garnered critical acclaim and set a standard for excellence in the region.
Cathyโs journey began in the 1970s when she moved to Napa Valley after earning a Masterโs degree in Enology from UC Davis. Despite the challenges of a male-dominated industry, she persevered, becoming the head winemaker at Chappellet Winery before founding her own label. Her wines are celebrated for their elegance, restraint, and profound sense of place, consistently earning accolades from critics and wine enthusiasts alike.
Following in her motherโs footsteps, Grace Corison Martin joined the family winery full-time in 2020. With a background in acting and restaurant hospitality, Grace brings a fresh perspective to the winemaking process. She has been instrumental in achieving organic certification for their vineyards through CCOF and obtaining Napa Green Certification for the winery, underscoring the familyโs dedication to sustainability. Her involvement ensures that the Corison legacy continues with the same passion and integrity that have defined it for decades.
This seminar offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with Cathy and Grace, gaining insights into their winemaking philosophies and the evolution of Corison Winery. Guests will have the chance to taste a curated selection of their critically acclaimed wines, including rare library vintages that exemplify the wineryโs storied history. Itโs an evening that perfectly captures the seamless blend of tradition and innovation, as mother and daughter collaborate to craft wines that honor the past while embracing the future.
Seats for this special tasting are extremely limited. Tickets for this very special seminar will be released soon.
We look forward to sharing this exceptional evening of Napa Valley history and world-class Cabernet Sauvignon with you.
