"Phaunus is an earthier range, reserved for skin-contact, ancestral sparkling or "palhete" wines (what we would call "clarete" in Spain, a wine produced with a mixture of red and white grapes). The white 2022 Phaunus Loureiro had a longer maceration, so it displays a deeper golden color and a more exotic nose, a little more "orange" and earthier, with hints of quince paste and yellow flowers. It fermented and matured in ancient amphorae and has contained ripeness, 10.5% alcohol and integrated acidity (it was a warmer year). It has fine tannins and a chalky finish." -Luis Gutiรฉrrez
