What is this wine?
Château Mont-Redon, a historic estate best known for its benchmark Châteauneuf-du-Pape, also farms vines across the Rhône’s Lirac appellation. The Lirac Blanc is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Roussanne, and Viognier, grown on the same galet- and limestone-rich soils that make their reds so distinctive. Vinified in stainless steel and partly in oak, it’s a fresh, expressive Southern Rhône white. The 2023 vintage produced lively, fruit-driven wines with excellent balance.
Why get this wine?
White Rhône blends are still under the radar, and Lirac offers outstanding value compared to its neighbors across the river in Châteauneuf. Mont-Redon’s version combines pedigree winemaking with accessibility—perfumed, textured, and food-friendly, but at a fraction of flagship CdP pricing.
What does this wine taste like?
Aromatic stone fruit, citrus, and white flowers with a touch of honey and spice. Medium-bodied, with a round, silky palate balanced by freshness and a mineral edge. Long and versatile.
When should you drink this wine?
Enjoy now through 2027. Excellent with Mediterranean fare—grilled fish, roast chicken, Provençal vegetables, or soft cheeses.
