Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona

Ciacci Piccolomini is a bastion of traditional farming and winemaking, though there is an elegance and a purity of fruit that stands it apart from its peers. They have some of the best sites in the Castelnuovo dellโ€™Abate zone, including the iron rich โ€˜Pianrossoโ€™ vineyard. Grapes are hand harvested from the perfectly oriented southeast slopes where vines are organically farmed.

""This wine is not to be confused with a Brunello. The Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona 2019 Brunello di Montalcino shows a beautiful continuity that unfolds in sync on the nose and palate. There are aromas of grilled watermelon, red cherry, garden herbs and violets, and there is a charred note reminiscent of toasted oak. The bouquet is very balanced, but on the palate it is much more powerful, thanks to the high alcohol content of 15% and the young tannins that hit the palate. Give this wine a few more years of bottle ageing.""
