"From <2 ha of vines in the upper southwest portion of the commune that includes some declassified 1ers from Les Baudes and Fuées. A wonderfully fresh and ripe nose speaks primarily cool red berries, spice and a pretty floral top note. There is a lovely sense of volume and punch to the supple and delicious flavors that flash surprisingly good power on the impressively long bitter pit fruit-inflected finish where the only nit is a touch of warmth."

"The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Village was one of the last to be picked, on September 13. It has a strict bouquet at first, with blackberry, briar and light sous-bois scents. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and fine depth. It is not the most complex Chambolle Village, though I like the lick of licorice toward the finish. Drink this over the next decade." -Neal Martin

"Aromas of sweet raspberries, cherries and blood orange introduce the 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Village, a medium-bodied, pure and supple wine that's lively and melting, with juicy acids and a saline finish." -William Kelley

"Expressive and elegant, with a lush, plummy fruit character and plenty of nuance. ‘The challenge was keeping the freshness,’ according to winemaker Jean Lupatelli, but he has made an impressive success, since this is lively, tannic and long. The grapes are from 1.8ha in Les Porlottes at the top of the slope above the village; half of the grapes were fermented as whole clusters, and the wine is ageing in 30% new casks."
