"The 1985 Clos Frantin Les Malconsorts is turning out to be a terrific example of the vintage. The color is still a dark ruby/purple, and the nose has opened to reveal scents of sweet, jammy black fruits, flowers, leather, and herbs. This voluptuously styled wine, which has shed much of its tannin and thrown considerable sediment, possesses lavish amounts of fruit, a nice touch of subtle new oak, and a long, opulent finish. It should continue to drink well for 8-10 more years. Impressive!" -Robert Parker

"Beautiful deep ruby color and extraordinary richness on the nose with ripe plum, blackberry and spice and more of the same on the palate, with great length and subtlety. It's not as powerful as some of the other 85 Burgundies, but it's more subtle and delicious."
