What is this wine?
Domaine Etienne Sauzet, now run by Gérard Boudot and his daughter Emilie, is one of Puligny-Montrachet’s benchmark estates, known for crystalline, terroir-driven Chardonnay. Les Combettes is a premier cru bordering Meursault, with clay-limestone soils that yield wines combining Puligny’s precision with a touch of Meursault’s breadth. The 2018 vintage in Burgundy was warm and generous, producing ripe, concentrated whites with surprising freshness and balance.

What does this wine taste like?
Ripe pear, peach, and citrus with notes of acacia, hazelnut, and a chalky mineral core. Full and textured, yet lifted by fine acidity and a long, saline finish.
When should you drink this wine?
Delicious now with aeration, but best from 2024–2035. A natural partner for lobster, scallops, roasted chicken, or creamy risottos.
