From the importer: The grapes for this wine come from the Montagne de Reims, a full 30km away from the winery located in Chavot, thus the name “Les Longues Voyes” or “The Long Routes.”
100% Pinot Noir organically grown grapes, aged in neutral barrels for at least 18 months. The richness of the fruit is refined through extended lees contact both in barrel and bottle while the limestone subsoils of this vineyard provide a firm mineral backbone. Creamy and rich, yet crisp and mineral with bright acidity. The dosage is 3.5Gr/L.

Aurélien Laherte believes Champagne should be for everyone. We agree.

Along with childhood best friend and fellow rising star, Raphaël Bérèche, they formed Terre de Vins, a down to earth trade organization. They bring together like-minded growers for a yearly tasting of vin clair (still wine, pre-bubbles) and finished Champagne to showcase their progressive wines.

Aurélien makes wines of power and whimsy, decadence and tension. Maybe it is because of his biodynamic approach, maybe it was his training with Antoine Sélosse or maybe he is simply one of the best vignerons in Champagne. No matter the reason, take advantage of this newsletter only pricing to experience it for yourself.

All of his wines are aged in neutral barrels, do not go through malolactic fermentation and have just enough dosage to balance the wine and showcase the terroir.

Seventh generation winegrower Aurélien Laherte is part of a dynamic, young generation making waves in Champagne and producing a fine array of terroir-driven Champagnes using a natural approach to viticulture and winemaking. Since taking the helm of his family’s estate in 2005, Aurelien has been a devoted practitioner of organic and biodynamic viticulture, striving to produce a lineup of blended and single-vineyard Champagnes that deeply expresses the identities of his unique terroirs. The vibrant, energetic and racy profile of Laherte Frères Champagnes has earned Aurélien a reputations as a rising star in the region.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 93
"The 2019 Extra Brut Blanc de Noirs Les Longues Voyes 1er Cru marries Pinot Noir fruit character with notable tension and verve. Crushed rocks, slate, mint, dried flowers, kirsch and cedar lend tons of complexity. Sourced from parcels resting on silty clay soils in Montagne de Reims, this bottling is aged for an extended period in barrel on its fine lees (18 months). More than anything else, the 2019 sizzles with energy. Dosage is 4 grams per liter." -Vinous

Robert Parker

RP 92
"Unfurling in the glass with inviting aromas of citrus zest, fresh apricot, verbena and wet stones, it's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and incisive, with racy acids, good depth at the core and a long, mineral finish."
