Based in Oltrepo Pavese in northern Italy, Lino Maga has been making wines since he was 6 years old. Yep, you heard that correctly. 2020 will be Lino's 83rd vintage (he is nearing 90 years of age), perhaps making him the most prolific winemaker of all time! Beyond that, the wines of his monopole Barbacarlo are legendary and mysterious to wine geeks and collectors alike, lending a certain wild and savory element that is unique to him and his ancient terroir.

Using no chemicals or additives at all in the vineyard or the cellar, you could say that Lino has been making natural wines for almost a century before the term became popular.
