Marc Hebrart Champagne Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru Brut NV

$6499

Marc Hébrart is celebrated for his precise and expressive Champagnes, and his *Blanc de Blancs* is no exception. Sourced from Premier Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs, this Chardonnay-driven cuvée is vinified in stainless steel to preserve freshness and aged on the lees to enhance complexity.

The nose is elegant and refined, offering aromas of white flowers, citrus zest, and crushed seashells. The palate is crisp and mineral-driven, revealing flavors of green apple, lemon curd, and a touch of toasted almond, carried by a fine, persistent mousse.

A perfect match for oysters, sushi, or a delicate goat cheese tart, this Blanc de Blancs is a stunning expression of Premier Cru Chardonnay.

Antonio Galloni

"One of the standouts in this range, the NV Brut Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru is a Champagne of real depth and staying power. Smoke, slate, crushed rocks, orchard fruit, lime and pear notes are all beautifully delineated in this vibrant, energetic Blanc de Blancs. Time in the glass brings out the wine's texture and broad, ample frame, along with a set of more gently oxidative aromas and flavors that suggest the Blanc de Blancs won't be a long-term ager. Even so, the Blanc de Blancs is quite pretty and expressive today. Dosage is 7 grams per liter." —Vinous

"Disgorged in April 2018, the latest iteration of Hébrart's NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru is lovely, bursting with aromas of Meyer lemon, green apple, brioche and subtle hints of blanched almond. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and seductive, with ripe acids, a youthfully frothy but incipiently fine mousse and a sapid, vinous finish that belies this bottling's easy charm. Not only is this a terrific wine, it's a terrific value." —Robert Parker

"A creamy, harmonious version, with a lovely skein of fragrant spice unwinding through flavors of apple, chopped hazelnut and poached peach. Hints of honey and lemon curd linger on the rich, mouthwatering finish. Disgorged October 2014. Drink now through 2020. 60 cases imported."

More about Marc Hebrart

Hébrart has holdings in a number of top sites in both the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs but is a specialist in the great village of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, where you find top spots like the Clos des Goisses and Selosse’s Sous le Mont.

When he blends his top cuvées, he has a lot of great source material to choose from but even Hébrart’s entry-level wines are pitched absolutely perfectly for Thursday. They're elegant and complex, and will elevate any dish. But they're not flashy or over the top: more supporting players than showboaters.
"Hébrart’s wines have a broad appeal: if you like to think about your wines, they're intellectually engaging enough to satisfy you; on the other hand, if you're just looking to drink, they're simply delicious." - Peter Liem, Champagne Guide
