"A discreet but nicely layered nose speaks of brioche, citrus, pear liqueur and a whiff of white flowers. The bold, rich and full-bodied flavors are supported by a generous but not aggressive mousse before culminating in a crisp, delicious and yeasty finish. This is not an elegant effort but to Bara's credit, the use of the term 'Réserve' is warranted as there is evident complexity along with the seductive mouth feel that comes with age." —Allen Meadows

"A creamy Champagne, offering concentrated flavors of mandarin orange preserves, dried white cherry and grated ginger, underscored by a streak of salty mineral. Well-balanced, with a lip-smacking finish."

More about Paul Bara

Paul Bara was one of the very first Kermit Lynch Champagnes to appear on our shores, back in 1975!

Paul was a champion of Champagne, a published historian of Bouzy, and a founding member of the Trésors de Champagne (the producer-group responsible for Special Club bottlings). Today, his daughter Chantale is the 9th generation responsible for crafting their hand-made artisanal wines from the family’s 11 hectares of vines.

Their cellar is a wonder to behold, hand-dug into the chalk, 33 feet down. It’s the perfect environment for aging bubbles with constant cool temperatures, adequate humidity and stability. The wines are classics, showcasing the luxurious, structured and powerful fruit from the Grand Cru of Bouzy in the Montagne de Reims.
