Scopetone is one of those estates that is so tiny that, for years, the only way to drink the wines was to fly to Tuscany and be lucky enough to find a bottle on a wine list in the village of Montalcino. They are soulful and pure expressions of Montalcino's Sangiovese, crafted in a traditional fashion. All farming is organic. Their vines lie quite high up, in the northwest corner of Montalcino, where the soils have iron-rich red silt.
