This expression of assyrtiko is much juicier and fruitier than a Santorini counterpart. Falvors of ripe lemns with classic bright acidity, salinity, and a slight bitter finish make this a quintessential food wine. Grilled octopus anyone? This wine is a part of the Denthis project of wine importer Eklektikon, which celebartes wines grown and made by small, sustainable family wineries. The Stamnaki (โ€œwine jugโ€ in Greek, and pictured on the bottle) line is an ode to indigenous Greek varieties, through simple and honest vinifications.
