White Burgundy from a single 0.4-hectare plot in Magny-lès-Villers, on the hillside above the Côte de Nuits. Domaine Cornu-Camus (est. 1981, next generation) farms this tiny parcel organically. The Hautes-Côtes de Nuits rarely produces white wine—most of the appellation is planted to Pinot Noir—making this Chardonnay an unusual find. The higher elevation and cooler microclimate contribute floral aromatics and citrus-driven freshness that distinguish it from the richer Côte de Beaune whites.

Left Burgundy

Cornu-Camus is an old-school producer who lives and mostly works in Hautes-Côtes' hills above Beaune, although they do have a smattering of holdings in the Côte d’Or, including two parcels of village level Pinot Noir in Pernand. Like so many producers these days, a new generation has made huge improvements (better farming, lower yields, more hands-off wine-making).
