The Beaune side of the Hautes-Côtes—slightly warmer and rounder than its Nuits counterpart. Domaine Cornu-Camus (est. 1981, next generation) ferments and ages this entirely in stainless steel, producing a clean, pure expression of Pinot Noir without any oak influence. The family farms 12 hectares organically across 15 appellations from their base in Echevronne. This is honest, unpretentious Burgundy—the kind of wine you open on a Tuesday night and feel genuinely good about.

Left Burgundy

Cornu-Camus is an old-school producer who lives and mostly works in Hautes-Côtes' hills above Beaune, although they do have a smattering of holdings in the Côte d’Or, including two parcels of village level Pinot Noir in Pernand. Like so many producers these days, a new generation has made huge improvements (better farming, lower yields, more hands-off wine-making).
