Roland Tauss is from the cool, rainy southern Austrian region of Styria. These bucolic rolling hills are often referred to as the Tuscany of Austria for their beauty, along with their chalky marl sub soils, here called Opok. While Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay reign supreme, Roland focuses on a variety of grapes, including Blaufrankisch, which takes on a cool, airy, blue fruited profile here.
