Whether it’s the black volcanic soil on Tenerife in the Canary Islands or the moonscape of the Valle de Aoste, we love wines from grapes grown in extreme places. So it was no surprise that we immediately fell in love with the wines of Domaine de Beudon.
Their vineyards are the apex of extremes. Perched on a small outcrop half way up a sheer mountainside in the Valais region of Switzerland, the only way to access the domain is a 3 hour walk up an absurdly precarious footpath with fixed ropes or a small, rustic cable car.
