Organically farmed Chardonnay from the Dolomites: a clean, honest look at mountain Chardonnay from the Lageder family. Terra Alpina is the range Alois Lageder makes with grower partners across the Dolomiti area, and the goal is simple: fresh, vibrant wines that taste of where they come from. For the Chardonnay, Lageder buys from growers committed to certified organic farming, with 20- to 30-year-old vines rooted in dolomitic limestone and porphyry at 200–250 meters. The house describes the Dolomiti as Alpine and Mediterranean at once, cool and mild, all rugged rock and green hills, and that balance is exactly what you want from an everyday white. This is the kind of bottle we like to keep in the fridge: serious about where it comes from, without asking you to be serious about drinking it.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Speck and Alpine cheese board with pickled vegetables; pan-fried trout with lemon and herbs; asparagus and spring pea risotto; chicken or veal schnitzel with a squeeze of lemon; fritto misto.

Tasting Profile

Expect a crisp, fresh take on mountain Chardonnay: green apple, pear and lemon zest, with a hint of white flowers and a stony, limestone-edged minerality. Typically light to medium in body with bright, lively acidity, it finishes dry, clean and refreshing. Think of it as a leaner, more Alpine cousin of a white Mâcon.
