Le Ragnaie is one of the most dynamic and exciting producers in Montalcino. Along with fellow progressive growers Stella di Campalto and Il Marroneto, Le Ragnaie is part of a growing movement towards wines of unrestrained purity, elegance, energy and lift and away from wines singularly focused on power and concentration.

Through conscientious farming, focused cellar work, and of course, excellent terroir, these growers are redefining what Brunello can be. Their wines feel detailed, bright and profoundly elegant on one hand while still firmly structured and deeply rooted in the best of historic local tradition on the other.

In the age of global warming, high-elevation vineyards are essential to capturing Brunellos of natural freshness and elegance. Le Ragnaie's Riccardo Campinoti is organically farming with incredible care the highest-elevation sites in the whole appellation.

In the cellar, he keeps it strictly traditional, with long macerations in concrete vats and patient élévage in large, neutral, Slavonian oak barrels. Year after year, the wines deliver the goods.
