Joseph-Jibril only started making Sauvignon Blanc in 2024, so this 2025 is just the second vintage, and it's a good moment to get in early on a Russian River Valley white from a small label worth following. The label is two people, Jaam Moynihan and Bobby Huff, and its name joins their middle names. They met as young winemakers at Kosta Browne, then both worked at Jolie-Laide and Marine Layer. They do everything themselves, from vineyard to cellar to marketing, and they have no tasting room. Their approach is native fermentation and minimal intervention, using grapes bought from small, family-owned vineyards that farm organically.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Fresh goat cheese and herb salad; grilled fish tacos with lime crema; shrimp ceviche; asparagus and pea risotto; Vietnamese summer rolls with nuoc cham.

Tasting Profile

Expect the cool-climate Russian River Valley take on Sauvignon Blanc: citrus, green apple and melon with a fresh, herbal edge, on a light-to-medium body with bright acidity. Native fermentation and a hands-off approach typically add a little texture and savoury depth, so think closer to a Loire Sauvignon than a punchy New Zealand one, finishing dry and clean.
