The NV Brut Réserve is such a delicious wine

Bérêche’s Brut Reserve is a wine fleeting in nature — when we are lucky enough to have it in stock, it’s usually not for long. In fact, there’s a very good chance this release won’t end up on the shelf at all, because our faithful newsletter readers tend to snap this Champagne up ferociously. And, we’ll admit, we usually try to hold back a bottle or two to enjoy after hours…it’s just that good!

We aren’t usually able to share Bérêche in our newsletter — there simply isn’t enough wine to go around. Last year, we relayed a story in which a magnum of Bérêche Brut Reserve served as a digestif after an incredible sushi dinner with Olivier Krug. It was a perfect nightcap after sampling Krug’s top offerings — not quite as powerful, not quite as golden and toasted, but it more than held its own.

It was enticing, creamy, elegant and lively, sharing some of the lemon curd and brioche notes of the Krug, with great lift and tension. And, keeping to theme, it didn’t last long.

Once again, we appealed to Bérêche’s importer, imploring them to allocate us enough wine to share with you today. And we think we have just enough wine!
