Looking forward to the week ahead in San Francisco- February 10th, 2020

Dear Friends of Flatiron,

Love is is the air and that means wine should be in your glass. That's right, it's Valentine's Day! If you're just being reminded now, don't worry...we've got you covered. Here's what we've got going on this week.

This Weeks Tastings

Wednesday February 12th
Tasting with Cascina Fontana from 5 to 7pm- Cascina Fontana is located in the heart of the Barolo wine zone in the small hamlet of Perno near Monforte d’Alba. Here the Fontana family continue cultivating grapes and making wine as they have done for the past six generations. Cascina Fontana is wholly traditional wine estate that respects and follows the culture, traditions and history of the Langhe. Join us for a tasting of their wines including their 2015 Barolo.

Thursday February 13th
Meet the Winemaker: Hugh Chappelle of Quivira Vineyards and La Follette Wines from 5 to 7pm- Hugh Chappelle boasts a prestigious resume of making cool climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast. At La Follette he shows his skills by allowing each vineyard site to express itself uniquely. The same philosophy follows with the wines he makes at Quivira Vineyards where Zinfandel and Rhône varieties are the name of the game. Meet Hugh Chappelle and discover what one person's balanced style looks like across a whole range of varieties.

Friday February 14th
Fall in Love with Veuve Clicquot and Dom Perignon from 5 to 7pm- Get your Valentine's Day started right with this special Champagne tasting! We'll have the bubbles flowing with two of the most famous names in the game. We'll have at least 4 different wines pouring so get excited. Whether you're single or hitched, it doesn't matter because you everyone needs to scratch that Champagne itch!

Featured in our weekly newsletter we're excited to be offering fan-favorite Vouette et Sorbee Fidele Extra Brut, Montevertine Pergole Torte 2016, a tasty 2018 Julienas from Marcel Lapierre and a selection of wines from Bien Nacido Rhônephiles Piedrasassi.
