The insurance companies and foreign interests are just starting to move in. But for now, Burgundy remains very much a family affair.
Take Amélie Berthaut. She was born to Burgundy vine-owners on both her mother’s and her father’s side. She has now put it all together into the 18 hectare Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet.
Even with these increased holdings, she's still focused on the same thing as everyone else in Burgundy since time immemorial: the weather, and what it will do to her vines.
