Philippe Jouan is one of the finest vignerons on the Cote d'Or. His touch is apparent from the Coteaux Bourguignons all the way up to the grand cru Clos-Saint-Denis. They boast remarkable complexity and finesse. Year after year what you want in a red burgundy is found here. He is one of the best in this hamlet of overachievers — 150 hectares of vineyards, 40 of which are grand cru and 33 hectares of premier cru.
