Nestled in the foothills of Mt. Olympus, Christos Zafeirakis operates one of Thessaly's newest wineries, as well as its first certified-organic one. A 4th generation winemaker in the region, Christos spent a good amount of time abroad, learning how to make wine in Milan, followed by stints in Piedmont, Alto Adige and Tuscany, but his passion has always been for his homeland's unique, ancient varieties. He's credited for bringing one back from nearly the verge of extinction: Limniona, a high-acid grape used in some of our favorite Greek reds.
