Weinbau Paetra is a Riesling centric winery in the Willamette Valley. Bill Hooper is the man responsible for these lovely wines and while he is master of Riesling (some of the best made this side of the Rhine Valley) he imbues a lot of the same qualities that his germanic whites have into this lovely bottle. Bracing acidity balanced by texture with a tightrope balance between fruit and minerality.

Bill believes, like we do, that the basis for all great wine is the soil from which it comes. Paetra wines are crafted by intensive hand labor in the vineyard and a minimalist approach to cellar work. After a long time working and learning in Germany he came back to the state and settled in Oregon Willamette Valley, certain that this was the palace that had the raw materials to craft the types of wines he wanted to make.
