Domaine René Cacheux et Fils began over 100 years ago in the heart of the village of Vosne-Romanée, the grandest of Burgundy Grand Crus. Though the estate was split a few years back, 4th generation owner and winemaker Gérald Cacheux maintains about 3.6 hectare of the best original parcels (including Suchots and Beaux Monts).
Gérald farms his small holdings meticulously, preferring natural pest controls and plowing to herbicides and pesticides. In the cellar he is careful and not modernist. Everything is 100% de-stemmed, fermented in tanks, and undergoes a gentle extraction before aging in barrique (10-50% new).
