Terrazzi Alti, a producer nestled among the mountains in the village of Sondrio, farms old vines biodynamically, almost uniquely in the region. They make the wines precisely and with sophistication. They don’t need to compensate. Their wines turn out as rich and deep as very good Barolo.
But they remain, fortunately, mountain wines, and that is what struck us about this producer the most: an incredible combination of high-altitude airiness with dense fruit, rich with Nebbiolo character.
