Antidoto Ribera del Duero La Hormiga 2021

The 2021 La Hormiga is a 100% Tempranillo from old vines in Soria, Ribera del Duero. Aged for ten months in French oak barrels, it's garnet in the glass with a purple sheen. On the nose, you'll find notes of black cherry, crushed plum and a touch of arugula against an oaky backdrop. The palate is dry, taut and structured with finely-grained tannins and a juicy finish. This is an intense red from Ribera del Duero.

Returns & Exchanges

We stand behind every bottle we sell.

  • If the wine is less than 10 years old and it is corked, you may return it to us for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase. You must show us proof of purchase. We understand that you may not live near a shop and that it is difficult to ship open bottles of wine to us, so if there's any problem feel free to Contact Us and we'll work it out.
  • For wines older than 10 years, the consumer bears the risk of a faulty cork, but we accept returns of older bottles if the wine is faulty as a result of improper storage. Please come by the store or Contact Us if there is a problem.
  • We may, at our discretion and to the extent permitted by law, accept returns of unopened wines within 30 days of purchase if they were properly stored by the purchaser, subject to a 15% re-stocking fee.

"The 2021 La Hormiga was produced with grapes from the villages of Quintanilla de Tres Barrios, Matanza de Soria and Villálvaro where the clay in the soil produces powerful, voluptuous and creamy wines. It fermented in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts and matured for 10 months in French oak barriques, 25% of them new, create a "reserva" style red. It has 14.9% alcohol, mellow acidity and 3.6 grams of unfermented sugar. They have lowered the amount of new oak, and the wine shows a lot more integration and freshness and more purity. The wine is gentle, balanced and elegant within the inherent power of the zone. One of the finest vintages of this cuvée to date. 51,000 bottles and 1,050 magnums produced. It was bottled in November 2022." —Luis Gutiérrez
