Prosecco that is good enough to drink for its own sake, not just to top up with Aperol. Most Prosecco comes from the flat, industrial end of the Veneto; Bisol works the steep hillsides of Valdobbiadene, the top corner of the zone, including the famous hill of Cartizze that is treated as Prosecco's grand cru — slopes that face straight at the sun on marl-based soils, all of it hand-worked because machines can't climb it. The Bisol family has been growing grapes here since the sixteenth century. Jeio is their second line, named after the nickname Desiderio Bisol's wife gave him, and it is the one we keep coming back to because it delivers a real share of the estate's refinement without the top-cuvée ask. It is Glera, made in the Charmat method, in the Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG. Use it for the spritz without guilt — but pour a glass on its own first and see what you think.

"Creamy, racy and fun, this offers inviting aromas of green apple, wisteria and aromatic herb. The vibrant palate delivers Bartlett ear, citrus and thyme accompanied by an elegant, continuous mousse. It has a crisp, dry close." —Kerin O'Keefe

More about Bisol

Bisol has been making wine in the region for 500 years. They remain family owned and small scale. They work exclusively in the top terroirs of the region, including the famous hill of Cartizze in the sub-region of Valdobbiadene. Here, the slopes are steep and face directly to the sun. The soils are a mix of marl and sandstone. It is considered Prosecco’s “Grand Cru”. All of Bisol’s farming is organic. They have complete control all of production from vineyard to glass, creating a very high quality product.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Prosciutto and melon, fried zucchini blossoms, salumi and olives before dinner, or fritto misto. It is also one of the few wines that genuinely works with a plate of eggs at brunch.

Tasting Profile

Green apple, white peach, pear and a little white flower. Dry, light-bodied, with a soft frothy bead rather than a hard fizz, crisp acidity and a clean, short, refreshing finish.
