Fractura Valle de Guadalupe Colombard Blanco 2025

Colombard is a grape most of us only ever meet in a Cognac still, which makes what Fractura does with it in Baja such a jolt. Dani Hernandez farms and vinifies in the Valle de Guadalupe with almost nothing added: this is mostly Colombard with about ten percent Moscatel picked and co-fermented alongside it, fermented and aged in neutral French barrels, bottled unfined, unfiltered and with barely any sulfur. The result is all line and tension rather than tropical weight, around 11% alcohol and bone dry, carrying the saline fingerprint that runs through every wine in this valley. Serve it cold and do not be alarmed by a faint haze. If you had written off Mexican wine, this is the bottle that argues back.

We stand behind every bottle we sell.

  • If the wine is less than 10 years old and it is corked, you may return it to us for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase. You must show us proof of purchase. We understand that you may not live near a shop and that it is difficult to ship open bottles of wine to us, so if there's any problem feel free to Contact Us and we'll work it out.
  • For wines older than 10 years, the consumer bears the risk of a faulty cork, but we accept returns of older bottles if the wine is faulty as a result of improper storage. Please come by the store or Contact Us if there is a problem.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Built for the Baja raw bar: oysters on the half shell, shrimp aguachile, scallop tostadas with lime. Just as good with a proper Caesar salad, grilled artichokes with aioli, or fresh queso panela dressed with olive oil and chile.

Tasting Profile

Green apple, white peach and lemongrass on the nose, with orange blossom and dried lime from the Moscatel and a faint grapey muskiness underneath. Light-bodied and bone dry, with crunchy orchard fruit over a chalky mineral backbone and lip-smacking acidity. Neutral barrels and lees give it a soft, slightly creamy weight that cushions the acid without blunting it. Dry, saline close.
