Fractura Valle de Guadalupe Durif Rosado 2025

Durif, the grape California calls Petite Sirah, gives up so much pigment that this rosado lands closer to a light red than a pale pink in the glass, and Fractura leans all the way into that. Dani Hernandez direct-presses the fruit in the Valle de Guadalupe, then ferments and ages it eight to ten months in neutral French barrels with the malolactic left to run, which builds a broad, rounded middle that pink wine almost never develops. Underneath, the acidity stays taut and the tannin registers as texture rather than grip. It is dry throughout, unfined and unfiltered, with the valley's saline edge on the finish. Give it a light chill and treat it like dinner wine rather than deck-chair wine.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

The barrel-built texture handles smoke and char: arrachera with salsa macha, chicken al carbon with charred scallions, or grilled octopus. It also stands up to jamon serrano and Manchego, grilled salmon, or a mushroom-heavy flatbread.

Tasting Profile

Wild strawberry, blood orange peel and dried Mediterranean herbs. Deeply colored and medium-bodied, with brisk acidity running under a broad, rounded mid-palate and a gentle tactile grip from the skins. Dry throughout, with a saline edge on the close.
