F.X. Pichler’s 2023 Riesling Ried Burgstall is sourced from steep, terraced vineyards near Dürnstein in the Wachau. These vines grow on gneiss and primary rock soils, imparting crystalline minerality and vibrant acidity. The wine is fermented with native yeasts and aged on fine lees in stainless steel.

This dry Riesling offers citrus zest, white peach, and slate-driven minerality with a long, fresh finish. It’s a precise, elegant expression of Wachau terroir and vintage.

F.X. Pichler has often been called the greatest winemaker in Austria and is certainly an icon.

His son Lucas Pichler has taken over the estate and continues the tradition of producing mouth-filling, complex wines from their ancient holdings in the Kellerberg and Loibenberg.
